All carriers and drivers subject to the ELD rule must use an Electronic Logging Device or AOBRD (automatic on-board recording device). Drivers may use paper logs for rentals that are 8 days or less in a 30-day period as an exemption to the ELD rule. Some vehicles will come with their own Electronic Logging Device, but we recommend bringing your own if your rental will require it.
