Taking Care of the Vehicle
Who is responsible for tires when the tread becomes too low, and is no longer within DOT standards?
The replacement of tires due to the normal operation of a vehicle falls under routine maintenance. This includes tread depth wear to be within DOT standards. Routine maintenance required during an active rental should be immediately reported to the vehicle Owner for assistance.
Do I have to clean my rental vehicle?
Vehicles should be returned to the Owner in the same condition as the beginning of the rental.
Do I need to provide fuel receipts?
We require Renters to submit fuel receipts so vehicle Owners can complete their IFTA filing. Provide them when completing your drop-off or monthly if your reservations exceed 30 days.
Do I need to refuel vehicles before returning them?
Yes, vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel and other required fluids that they had when picked up.
How can I upload fuel receipts for IFTA?
As a Renter, this is how to avoid fees by uploading your receipts for International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) reporting.
What happens if I get in an accident?
If you or your driver is involved in an accident, please call local authorities first. After you have notified the authorities, contact COOP so that our team can guide you through the accident process.
What should I do if a vehicle breaks down?
If the vehicle has a flat tire, a mechanical issue, or any other problem that prevents you from traveling safely during a rental, we can send roadside assistance to help.
Where can I access my trip records?
Go to your reservations page to access all the trip records from past reservations with COOP Owners.
Who is responsible for maintenance?
The vehicle’s Owner is responsible for costs associated with regular maintenance, however you as a Renter may have to help bring them in for service.
Who is responsible for IFTA on my rental truck?
As the Renter you are responsible to report your fuel receipts when your rental ends or monthly if the rental exceeds 30 days.
What are the guidelines or requirements for COOP net maintenance?
For long-term trailer rentals with net maintenance, Renters must adhere to our guidelines and policies for net maintenance.
