Typically, these trucks are used for transporting large loads within a day's travel or to a location where the driver can sleep overnight.
A day cab truck typically has one or two axles. Unlike sleeper cabs, day cab trucks are designed without sleeping accommodations, making them suitable for hauling both lightweight and heavyweight cargo loads.
A single-axle day cab semi, or a semi-truck without a sleeper cab, typically weighs between 17,000 to 22,000 pounds. This weight does not include a trailer.
