Front Fixed
Front fixed refrigerated trailers get their name from the temperature control unit that is placed at the front of the trailer unit. With a power supply for the trailer that is separate from the vehicle itself, these are the most common types of refrigerated trailers.
Multiple Temperature Zone
The innovative technology in multiple temperature zone refrigerated trailers allows them to set varying temperature zones throughout their cargo area. With many different types of cargo that are required to stay within a specific temperature range during shipping, there are a lot of different uses for these types of refrigerated trailers that can save you both time and money.
Wooden Floor
Wooden floor refrigerated trailers have both pros and cons, depending on what type of cargo you need them for. While these floors provide greater air circulation and shock absorption than metallic floors, moisture can damage them over time and they require more energy to stay cool. These floors would be great for fresh produce, but not as good for medical supplies or frozen food.
Metallic Floor
While metal floors in refrigerated trailers don’t offer as much air circulation as wooden floors will, they provide cost savings due to the lower energy required to keep them at a specific temperature. Additionally, metal floors in reefers are more level than wood, which can really matter when every inch counts for your cargo needs.
