Step-Deck Flatbed Trailer
A step-deck flatbed trailer is a great variation of the traditional flatbed trailer for drivers who are looking to transport tall cargo. This flatbed trailer has two levels: the first level which is of standard height and attaches to the truck pulling it, and the second level which drops down to a lower height, allowing for taller cargo to be loaded and still be below the clearance level needed for bridges and tunnels.
Aluminum Floor Flatbed Trailer
Traditional flatbed trailers with aluminum floors are a great choice for transporting freight in milder climates. This flooring type is advantageous because it doesn’t rust and is mold-resistant, helping to protect the cargo you transport and making it less susceptible to weather conditions. These trailers are recommended for milder climates though because they can be very slippery when ice forms on the surface, more so than alternative flooring types, and they can be loud when loading or walking on these trailers.
Wooden Floor Flatbed Trailer
Wooden floor flatbeds can be seen almost everywhere, but they are not all made the same. The types of wood used for flatbed trailer floors include douglas fir, rough oak, and southern yellow pine. Though each type of wood has its benefits and drawbacks, all of them are treated to be resistant to chemicals and rotting and are made to be strong and durable for your freight and cargo loading needs. A drawback of wooden flooring is that it can warp due to elements, but it absorbs cold and icy conditions better than a metal-bed trailer.
Great Dane
Great Dane, an American manufacturer with its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, has been making trailers since 1900. The first trailers this manufacturer specialized in were flatbed trailers, but by 1934, they added both tank trailers and enclosed vans to their offerings. Three trademark models of flatbed trailers you may find available for rent include Great Dane Freedom SE, the Great Dane Freedom LT, and the Great Dane Freedom XP.
East Manufacturing Company
East Manufacturing is a privately-owned company that is driven to make products that are built better. Founded in 1968, they pride themselves on optimizing payload potential with low-weight, high-stress tolerating trailers. They also minimize downtime with their designs to maximize profitability by lowering operating costs. Consider renting their East Manufacturing Beast or their East Manufacturing MMX products.

Renting a commercial trailer or truck is an efficient way to transport goods for dark stores. As retailers continue to expand operations and offer shoppers more convenience, one trend that has emerged is the rise of dark supermarkets. Warehouse spaces operate primarily as fulfillment centers, without the customer-facing component of a traditional grocery store. Maximize your efficiency in getting products from the warehouse to the customer by renting a commercial trailer or truck. Companies ensure their goods are being transported safely, securely, and with a faster, more reliable delivery experience.
When it comes to transporting private goods in the retail industry, renting a commercial trailer or truck can be the best option. Commercial vehicle rentals can save retailers time and money. Renting a commercial vehicle allows for customization and flexibility in transport options. From large, heavy-duty trucks to large capacity refrigerated trailers, you can choose the equipment that best suits your needs.
