Front Fixed
Gaining their name from the temperature control unit placed at the front of the trailer unit, front fixed are the most common types of refrigerated trailers. Including a power supply that is separate from the vehicles and environmentally-friendly condenser units, these refrigerated trailer units will help you keep your cargo at the correct temperature during your journey.
Multiple Temperature Zone
Multiple temperature zone refrigerated trailers allow you to set different required temperatures for different parts of your cargo area. These are great options for a company that may have multiple deliveries of different perishable products in a day or single deliveries that have a wide variety of temperature requirements.
Wooden Floor
Made of spaced wooden floors, these refrigerated trailers provide better air circulation than others with metallic floors. This makes them a great option for fresh food or flowers, which both need air circulation to remain fresh. The wood also provides more shock absorption than the rigid metallic floors. The downside of these floors is that they will retain moisture over time and need to be replaced.
Metallic Floor
Metallic floor reefer trailers will not provide the same level of air circulation that wooden floors do, but they are more energy-efficient since metal is a good conductor. This will provide cost savings as a result of the decreased energy consumption. Additionally, metal floors in reefers are more level than wood, which can really matter when every inch counts for your cargo needs.
Fruehauf
Named by some as the father of the commercial trucking industry, August Fruehauf created the first semi-trailer in 1918 at his shop in Detroit. Over the many years that Fruehauf Trailer Corporation has been operating, they have never ceased to bring innovations that have revolutionized the trucking industry. Acquired by Wabash National in 1997, that experience has been paired with another industry-leading brand, making their refrigerated trailers some of the best available.
Heiwo
The Heiwo company is known for making some of the best reefer trailers in the world. As the Netherlands’ largest supplier of insulated refrigerated and freezer trailers, the company has a reputation for building high-quality products that you can depend on.
Great Dane
The Great Dane brand of tractors and trailers is one of the best known in the industry, for good reason. The company has a track record with more than a century of manufacturing safe, durable, and efficient products, and their refrigerated trailers are an excellent representation of the quality this company provides.
Wabash
As the leading manufacturer of semi-trailers in the country, Wabash has a focus on technology and innovations that lead to great products across their entire catalog. The ArcticLite models from Wabash brought together learnings from all of the nation’s top refrigerated carriers to design new and unique functions that help maximize your profits and ensure the safety of your cargo.
Utility
The top-selling refrigerated trailer in North America comes to us from Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company. The continuous improvement this company has made over the years has allowed Utility to consistently manufacture refrigerated trailers that continue to dominate the market. Their 300R refrigerated trailer is the latest representation of the quality this company produces, with optimized thermal efficiency and maximized performance that you will not find with any other brand of reefer trailer.
