What are the guidelines or requirements for COOP net maintenance?

For long-term trailer rentals with net maintenance, Renters are responsible for returning all trailers at the end of a reservation with the same amount of aggregate tread and brake wear and the same overall condition as the equipment was provided at the time of rental. Renters must adhere to the following guidelines and policies for net maintenance:

Pre- and Post-rental Inspections:

·   Drivers should perform preventive maintenance (PM) as needed and an annual DOT/FHWA inspection.

·   Conduct daily Safety Pre-Trip inspections and maintain proper hub lubricant levels, tire air pressure, and wheel oil levels.

·   Ensure that drivers submit clear photos of trailers during pick-up and drop-off during the vehicle documentation process.

 Tires:

·  Replace normally worn tires when there is between 3 and 4/32nds inch tread depth remaining (Normal wear is 12,000 miles per 32nd per tire on vans and other closed tandem Equipment and 8,000 miles per 32nd for Equipment with spread axle tandems).

·   Maintain air inflation to the recommended manufacturer's inflation settings.

·   Repair Flats and replace tires damaged by road hazards, curbing and cuts, flat spotted, and run-flat tires due to underinflation or blow-outs.

 Brakes:

·   Replace normally worn brakes below 3/8ths inch, per DOT guidelines (Normal wear is 20,000 miles per 1/8-inch brake lining per wheel end).

·   Adjust brakes when needed and complete brake reline by axle with normal wear at 2/8ths inch.

·   Repair/replace air chambers, air valves, and damages to the air system.

·   Replace brake linings frozen to drums due to forces of nature (cold weather freezing or rust seizure).

 Lights:

·   Replace worn parts due to normal wear as needed.

·   Repair shorts in wiring or defective wiring, defective lights, broken or missing lights and lenses, and burned-out lights or broken light assemblies.

 Body:

·   Repair or replace suspension or body components due to normal wear or physical damage.

·   Repair or replace door seals, hinges, suspension components, bushings, and seals.

·   Repair torn or missing mud flaps.
