Refrigerated Box Truck
Refrigerated box trucks are modified to have a refrigeration system in the cargo area. With this feature, they are often used for the transportation of temperature-sensitive freight. There are two common modifications of the refrigeration system which can be either single-temp or multi-temp.
Conventional Box Trucks
This box truck is easily identified due to its shape; the engine is located in front of the cabin, giving the truck a nose-like shape. An advantage of this design is that you can access the engine easily, making maintenance and repairs easy. It also maximizes the comfort of the driver. They are however rigid making them less flexible in congested areas. Also, their visibility is limited since the driver may not see things that are directly in front of them due to the bonnet in front.
Cabover Engine Box Trucks
Cabover engine box trucks, on the other hand, have the cabin positioned above the engine and front axle, giving them a flat face. The advantage of this feature is that it has 360 degrees of visibility, unlike its conventional counterparts. Visibility is also enhanced by the cab area’s raised position as the driver sits closer to the windscreen.
These box trucks are flexible too and can maneuver easily in busy areas. On this account, they are mostly used for door-to-door deliveries since they also provide a smaller turning radius. The one downside is that they are less comfortable compared to conventional trucks since the cabin seats are fixed above the axle and engine.
Freightliner
Freightliner is a reputable brand that manufactures innovative trucks customized to suit your requirements. The brand has both medium and heavy-duty trucks which you can choose based on your freight’s requirement. Freightliner also guarantees fuel efficiency which is evident in the eM2 model that is electric with zero emissions making it environmentally sustainable.
Scania
Productivity, fuel efficiency, safety, sustainability, and uptime are part of the engineering and assembling process of Scania trucks. The company produces trucks that are persistent and great for long-distances hauling. These trucks range in sizes and strength with a powertrain of 280 to 730 horsepower. It is not only suitable for long hauls but also local trips, with great visibility that gives the driver optimum driveability. Scania engines are also fuel-efficient with improved injectors and combustion chambers that reduce consumption.
Hino
Hino has incorporated safety and sustainability into its truck manufacturing techniques. Its trucks are very reliable and durable, built in the medium-duty and heavy-duty classes. They are specifically designed to increase usability and quality for a top-notch experience. Some of the latest Hino truck models boast maximized power and efficiency, safety, and driver support such as a spacious cabin and a 360 degrees-visibility windshield.
